Mazda On Track For 2004 Record Sales Year

Mazda sales results for November confirm the Zoom-Zoom brand is on track to achieve record sales in 2004.
Mazda sales to the end of November are 29 per cent up on the same period last year at 46,783 units, putting the growing Japanese manufacturer on track to achieve its target of over 48,000 sales this year.
Mazda sales in the UK have dramatically risen over the past three years since Mazda Motors UK was established as a National Sales Company for Mazda Corporation Japan, taking over responsibility from independent distributor MCL Group in August 2001. MMUK has increased sales by over 200 per cent in just three years.
The D-segment saloon/hatchback Mazda6 continues to be popular with retail and fleet customers and is Mazda's best seller again this month. Recently named eighth best car in BBC Top Gear Magazine's customer satisfaction survey, Mazda6 sales reached over 800 units for the month equating to over 14,700 year to date.
Almost a year since launch and Mazda's C-segment mid-sized saloon/hatchback Mazda3 is already the company's second highest volume car. 9,337 units have been sold to date with 650 Mazda3 customers in the past month.
The Mazda RX-8 has received global acclaim since its launch with over 25 international awards for the unique rotary-powered, four seater sports coupé. Over 100,000 Mazda RX-8s have rolled off the production line in its first year to October and in the UK 10,000 were sold in the same period. In November 606 units were sold with many dealers throughout the UK presenting their 100th Mazda RX-8 customer a new vehicle this past month.
Sales Director Rob Lindley commented: "November confirmed we are on track to achieve over 48,000 units in 2004 which is a tremendous result thanks to the continued popularity of the revolutionary Mazda RX-8 and almost a full year of the Mazda3.
"We will have 150 Mazda dealers operational by the end of this year, reaching new market areas throughout the country. It's fantastic that our Mazda dealer partners are enjoying the rewards of our sales growth as they have been key to the success that we have achieved in the last three years."
