The Mazda6 facelift is intended to make a great car even better. Five engines have been refined enhancing Mazda6 facelift’s combination of style, comfort and convenience, while the athletic and sophisticated design theme with refinements to the exterior make for an even stronger, sportier look for all three body styles.

New tyres and wheels, sound insulation material, new vibration damping structures and extra reinforcements are introduced, which reduce road noise and make driving the Mazda6 facelift even more enjoyable and comfortable.

Developed specially for the European market are two derivatives of a four cylinder MZR-CD 2.0-litre common-rail turbo diesel, a 121ps version producing 121ps at 3,500rpm* and maximum torque of 320Nm at 2,000rpm*, and a 143ps version that produces 143ps at 3,500rpm* and maximum torque of 360Nm at 2,000rpm*. Both engines come standard with a diesel particulate filter system and achieve a Euro Stage IV emission rating.

The petrol line-up includes an MZR 1.8-litre base engine that produces 120ps at 5,500rpm* and torque of 165Nm at 4,300rpm*, and MZR 2.0-litre petrol that produces a maximum of 147ps at 6,500rpm* and maximum torque of 184Nm at 4,000rpm*, and an even more powerful MZR 2.3-litre that produces a maximum of 166ps at 6,500rpm* and a maximum torque of 207Nm at 4,000rpm*.

A newly developed six-speed manual transmission is mated to both diesel derivatives and to the 2.0-litre and 2.3-litre petrol engines. A new five-speed Activematic transmission, replacing the former four-speed automatic, is an option for the two larger petrol engines.

To improve driving enjoyment front and rear suspension systems were revised and like the outgoing model, Mazda6 facelift has high levels of active safety. In addition to a collapsible brake pedal and six airbags, Mazda6 facelift has a new seatbelt reminder for the rear seats as an added safety feature for families with children.

Mazda6 MPS - The Ultimate Zoom-Zoom Saloon

The Mazda6 MPS (Mazda Performance Series), set to go on sale in the UK later this year has a newly-developed direct-injection turbocharged 2.3-litre petrol engine, new Active Torque Split All-Wheel Drive and upgraded chassis systems.

The new Mazda6 MPS delivers an outstanding balance between performance and driving fun with precision handling, stability, engine and braking performance. Its newly-developed MZR 2.3-litre DISI TURBO engine employs direct injection spark ignition technology and a turbocharger to produce 260ps of maximum power at 5,500rpm* and 380Nm of maximum torque at just 3,000rpm*. As a result, the new Mazda6 MPS is quick off the line and when coupled to a newly-developed six-speed manual transmission, delivers exhilarating driving fun.
