Mazda5

How It Looks - Interior

The interior styling is as you would expect of Mazda stylish, functional and uncluttered with chunky and tactile switchgear. The black plastics were of a good quality and are complemented by silver effect trim.

The Mazda5's seat upholstery was a black nylon type fabric with contrasting silver pattern inserts. Both the seat fabric and carpets were of a good quality and should prove durable in the long term.

In Car Entertainment and Satellite Navigation

The Mazda5 Sport is fitted with an AM/FM radio, 6-CD in-dash auto-changer with 6 speakers with MP3 playback which means that you should be able to get approximately 60 albums onto the system. Sound quality was very good and seems to suit the cabin acoustics.

Rivals
  • Renault Grand Scenic, Toyota Verso, Vauxhall Zafira & Volkswagen Touran
What We Liked
  • Handling
  • Sliding doors
  • 7-seat capacity in a vehicle that overall is not much bigger than an estate car
  • Flexible seating options
  • High level of safety equipment
  • Exterior & interior styling
What We Disliked
  • Road noise
  • No drive away locking (on a family orientated vehicle)
