The Mazda5 made its UK debut on the 22nd July 2005, replacing the Mazda Premacy and MPV. Mazda’s design team were briefed to create a seven seat MPV which embodies Mazda’s ‘stylish & clean’ DNA and promises ‘Zoom-Zoom driving pleasure and sees Mazda’s entry into the largest and fastest growing vehicle segment in Europe.
The Mazda5 range encompasses both petrol and diesel variants and starts at £14,300 for the 1.8 litre TS petrol model, we tested the £16,300 range topping 2.0 Sport.
How It Drove - Performance
The Mazda5 2.0 Sport is powered by Mazda’s 2.0 MZR inline four-cylinder, 16 valve DOHC engine with multi-point fuel injection which produces 145 PS enabling the Mazda5 Sport to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 10.8 seconds and continue to a top speed of 122 mph.
