Safety and Peace of Mind
Safety features on the Spyder include:
- Active devices in terms of vehicle dynamics, electronic braking aids and traction control to which other specific equipment, such as xenon headlights, can be added. The latter are optional and come with dynamic beam height adjustment and headlight washers.
- Passive safety devices, starting with a bodyshell enhanced to meet the new EC/USA collision standards, twin roll-over hoops behind the cockpit and standard equipment including four airbags (front and sides) combined with electronic pre-tensioners on the seat belts.
The Spyder is also fitted with an inertia switch that cuts off the electricity supply to the petrol pumps in the event of violent deceleration (collisions) to prevent fire.
Other equipment available to enhance comfort includes electronic cruise control and electronic parking sensors incorporated in the rear bumper and activated when reversing.
A "peace-of-mind" support package for customers includes a three-year/unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty, specific Maserati insurance cover available through the Marsh Private Clients company and a range of purchase and leasing funding options available through Maranello Financial Services.
The Officine Alfieri Maserati personalisation programme
Maserati has developed a varied range of new colours for the Spyder in 2004, which now allows customers to freely combine the 16 body colours with the 10 shades of leather upholstery. With each shade of leather Maserati recommends other matching elements as a customer guide to creating an extremely elegant, harmonious interior environment.
Maserati offers customers a chance to create a customised Spyder with the Officine Alfieri Maserati programme, designed to enable the dreams, tastes, requirements and user profile of each individual client to be made a reality in the best possible way. The personalisation proposals of the Officine Alfieri Maserati programme fall into four areas: colour, interior finish, travel and sporting dynamism. In addition, customers can make personal requests for special finishes, provided the necessary technical, homologation and quality standards can be met.
Particular emphasis goes to the choice of colours, with over three million possible colour combinations. The colour of most of the upholstered elements (dashboard, door panels, rear shelf, steering wheel etc) can be individually specified, right down to the colour of the stitching or the piping that runs along the dashboard. On request, it is even possible to produce a shade of paint for the bodywork from a sample provided by the customer.
A special ‘Vintage’ personalisation package now offers customers a range of chromed parts to give their Spyder a very distinctive appearance.
