Lotus Cars Ltd announced the pricing for the new Lotus Elise 111R. The 192PS 190-hp, 6-speed Elise went on sale in February 2004 with a very competitive manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of £27,995 including VAT.
The Lotus Elise 111R is the latest addition to the Lotus stable and introduces to the market the most powerful and highest performing production Elise.
With a VVTL-i engine (Variable Valve Timing and Lift-Intelligent) producing a maximum power output of 192 PS (189hp, 141kW) and 181Nm (133.5 lbs.ft) of torque, the Elise 111R sprints to 100km/h in 5.2 seconds (0-60mph in 4.9 seconds) and 160km/h (100mph) in 13.0 seconds before reaching a certified top speed of 241km/h (150mph).
This performance is achieved through a balance of environmental considerations with the fully Euro IV Emissions Compliant engine helping the Elise to return 8.8 litres/100km (32.1mpg) on the combined cycle, as well as the very low figure of 208g/km of CO2 emissions.
Lotus Cars strives to offer its customers sector leading performance and outstanding value, and as of 26 January 2004, the Elise range consisted of:
- Lotus Elise (122 PS, 120hp, 89.7kW engine) at a MSRP of £22,995 including VAT
- Lotus Elise 111S (158 PS, 156hp, 116kW engine) at a MSRP of £25,995 including VAT (this price includes a hard-top to further enhance customer value)
- Lotus Elise 111R (192 PS, 189hp, 141kW engine) at a MSRP of £27,995 including VAT
Lotus has invested heavily in new products (such as the Elise 111R) and in new markets, including the USA, Japan and Mexico. The Elise with the VVTL-i engine is currently being launched into the USA market with an anticipated additional volume of 2000-2400 per annum. Therefore, with increasing the total production volumes of the Elise in 2004 from 2200 to up to 4600, the economies of scale, and the savings thus created, have been passed on to the customer.

The Touring Pack is priced at a MSRP of £1995 including VAT and includes:

- Auxiliary front driving lights
- Soft-top with sound and thermal insulation
- Full carpet with a lightweight aluminium passenger footrest
- Choice of either full leather or Alcantara trim
- Electric windows
- Interior storage net
- Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB radio, CD-R/W and MP3 player
Other options include air-conditioning which is available at a MSRP of £1295 and a body coloured hard top at a MSRP of £1295.
