A new Lexus RX 400h is the latest vehicle to join the exclusive Lexus car fleet operated by Graham Brit Services Ltd. The Edinburgh-based business is the first chauffeur service in Britain to select the hybrid power model, adding it to its established collection of LS 430 and RX 300 vehicles.
Stewart Torrance of GBS said: "The RX 400h gives us the same level of economy as if we had purchased a diesel, but without any loss of the prestige and luxury our clients require.
"Operating the vehicle for two weeks now we have recorded excellent fuel consumption figures and, as we develop our fleet over the next couple of years, we have the potential to cut our fuel bill by up to half."
The RX 400h’s fuel economy is matched by the strong performance delivered by its Hybrid Synergy Drive® system, which combines a 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine with front and rear electric motors. These elements work individually or together to deliver seamless performance according to driving conditions. The rear motor gives the vehicle an electric four-wheel drive capability when required.
