Murcielago has already been acclaimed by the world's media as a car to make marques such as Ferrari 'look to their laurels'. The first Lamborghini to be designed and produced under Lamborghini's present owners Audi, Murcielago features not only unmistakable external styling, but outstanding engineering and build that assures the latest Lamborghini a place at the front of the 'super car' grid.
The first UK specification Murcielago was released
in Spring 2002, priced at just over £160,000, with a
high demand already experienced. Dominic Lancaster, general
manager of Lamborghini London, the official UK importer of
Lamborghini in the UK, believes that the Murcielago will not
only appeal to traditional Lamborghini enthusiasts but also
attract a new following to the marque.
"Murcielago has been designed and built to a new standard,"
says Lancaster. "While it is very much a Lamborghini,
with all the aggressive good looks traditionally associated
with the marque, it also offers a level of design and engineering
refinement for which previous Lamborghini models have sometimes
been criticised. At the same time, Murcielago does not lack
in the outstanding power, performance and eye-catching style
for which Lamborghini is famous worldwide."
