Drive-Away Insurance Makes The £1 Kia Even Easier To Buy

Published: 29th July 2004
Fed-up with waiting for a bus in the pouring rain? Are the wrong sorts of leaves on the railway line disrupting your morning commute? Then why not pop into your nearest Kia dealership, put one pound down and thanks to a new free seven-day insurance scheme drive away immediately in a comfortable new car.

Buying a new car from Kia – Britain’s fastest growing car company over the last two years – has just been made even simpler and quicker with the new scheme that provides instant insurance cover.

Until now new-car buyers had to organise their own insurance cover note when they went to purchase a new car and that usually meant a wait of a week or more – but no longer thanks to Kia and A.S.A. Insurance.

Kia made buying a new car easier for millions when it introduced its £1 deposit finance deal and now it has made the whole process faster and simpler thanks to the new web-based insurance cover note scheme devised by A.S.A. Insurance.

Provided the Kia dealer has the car of the customer’s choice in stock the new scheme makes it possible for the proud new owner to drive away almost immediately. The web-based system carries out the entire insurance cover note check in just a few minutes and issues a fully effective cover note valid for seven days – more than enough time for the customer to either contact their own insurance company to obtain a new policy or for A.S.A. Insurance to provide on-going cover at a special rate.

The instant cover doesn’t cost the customer a penny – so thanks to Kia’s innovative finance scheme requiring no more than a £1 deposit it really is possible for almost anyone to enjoy immediate motoring for virtually nothing.

Kia Motors (UK) Limited Managing Director Paul Williams said: "After introducing hassle-free buying with the £1 deposit we decided that Kia should make the whole process of driving away in a new car even easier, so with A.S.A. Insurance we looked at how we could cut out the wait between purchase and delivery.

"Of course it does depend on the dealer having the right car in stock but as our cars are so well equipped there are not too many choices that need to be made and we think this scheme will be especially popular with people wanting to buy our new small car, the Picanto. The dealer will only have to complete the usual pre-delivery checks and then the customer can be on their way.

"It means that buying a new car is as easy as catching the bus – and in many cases a lot faster and more reliable," added Williams.

Alastair Christopherson, Development Director at A.S.A. Insurance said: "A.S.A. are delighted to be working with the participating Kia dealerships, who are taking advantage of this unique Motor Insurance Solution. The scheme gives the ultimate customer service within the showroom that can only lead to further sales for Kia dealerships in the future. The dealer guarantees his sales, without the worry of outstanding motor insurance documents. It is a complete service for all parties.

The free insurance cover is available, from participating dealers, to cash-buyers and trade-ins as well as those choosing to use Kia’s innovative finance scheme and is subject to normal insurance checks.
