With ever increasing bills and the cost of living escalating on a day to day basis Kia Motors has decided to take the strain from customers and pay the vehicle excise duty on new Sportage models for the next three years.
The offer is open to customers who buy a new Sportage between 10th September and 31 October 2008. The cost of the road tax for this period* is between £700 and £820 depending on the VED band and will be deducted, on a one-off basis, from the on-the-road price of the vehicle at the time of purchase.
Paul Philpott, managing director of Kia Motors (UK) Limited said: “Buying a new car is a tough decision to make at the moment and a number of factors will influence buyers final choice. The VED rate is of course one of them. We are giving customers the opportunity to make a judgment about what they need without having to sacrifice on space and size because of the expenditure on road tax"
Sportage boasts both 2.0 petrol and diesel versions in either 2WD or 4WD with the range starting at £13,995 for the XE 2WD and moving up to £19,195 for CRDi TITAN 4WD at the top of the family. All models come with anti-lock brakes and electronic brake force distribution as standard, as well as air conditioning, electric windows, USB and AUX ports. The XS adds black leather upholstery, cruise control, full climate control, door courtesy lamps and a wiper de-icer. The step up to the 4WD TITAN includes larger alloy wheels, electronic stability programme, electric tilt and slide sunroof along with heated front seats and privacy glass.
The Kia Sportage TITAN was named the best budget 4x4 in the jointly hosted Practical Caravan, What Car? and The Camping and Caravanning Club awards in June 2008, and Kia continue to push on with top quality build standards at affordable prices with the new model.
Kia’s Zilina factory in Slovakia, where the Sportage is built was presented with two international certificates in April this year recognising the advanced environmental design and manufacturing processes at the plant. The build quality at the factory has enabled Kia UK to give the Sportage an unrivalled seven year 100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
* The deduction of the current and future road tax is based on rates published in the March 2008 UK Government Budget. Any further changes to road tax will not be covered under this offer and the offer is only available to vehicles privately registered and purchased from participating authorised Kia dealers.
