The latest recruit to join Manchester United, Ji-Sung Park - a star of Korea’s successful World Cup team - will be flying the Kia flag after taking delivery of a Sorento 3.0 V6 XSE.
Park, 24, has just moved from PSV Eindhoven to the Manchester Club and Kia Motors (UK) Ltd are providing him with the car as part of Kia Motors Corporation’s football ambassador programme.
At a ceremony at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, Mr Se-Il Lee, President of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd greeted Park and welcomed him to the Kia family by presenting him with the keys to his new Sorento.
Park said that as he was joining Britain’s most famous football club he was happy to be driving Britain’s best 4x4 for customer satisfaction, according to J.D. Power. He said he was looking forward to the challenge of driving on the left and that he thought the Sorento’s standard-fit satellite navigation system would come in very useful as he tried to find his way around his new home city.
Mr S.I. Lee commented: “Ji-Sung Park is one of the most famous young footballers in Korea and the whole country will be following his career at Manchester United. I hope that he is going to be very successful and that the Sorento will provide him with care-free motoring.
“Kia Motors (UK) Ltd are very proud to be linked with Korea’s most talented player and we will follow his on-field performance with interest.”
