Kia Announces Dealer Participation in Red Nose Day 2011

As a Supporting Partner of Red Nose Day 2011, Kia Motors UK is delighted to announce the participation of 122 Kia dealers across the network in raising funds for Comic Relief.

An overwhelming number of dealerships up and down the country will be doing something funny for money as they prepare for Red Nose Day on Friday 18th March 2011, and get set to raise funds for a worthy cause.

Red Nose Day is all about positive change through the power of entertainment, and Kia Motors UK will be embracing this mission to raise a smile in the name of charity. Kia Motors UK was the first ever automotive partner that Comic Relief worked with and remains its only automotive partner for the Red Nose Day 2011 campaign. In 2009 the company raised over £100,000 for Comic Relief and this year Kia Motors UK looks set to smash that record with all participating dealers having pledged a minimum of £1,200 each, which already amounts to over £140,000!

To reach that £1,200 target, participating Kia dealers will be involved in a variety of chuckle-worthy fundraising activities between now and Friday 18th March. These include a competition to guess how many Red Noses it takes to fill a Kia Venga, a charity car wash, and a 'Best Dressed Showroom Window' challenge. Dealers will also be invited to show their creative side in the run up to Red Nose Day by turning an old trade-in vehicle into something hot enough to be auctioned for charity. 'Pimp My Part-Ex' will see a number of cars go under the hammer in conjunction with British Car Auctions (BCA).

Other fundraising activities Kia dealers will be looking to undertake include raffles, comedy nights, Family Fun Days where kids have to 'hunt the Red Nose' around the showroom and a charity golf event.

It's not just the dealer network that is getting involved, but also those in the Kia Motors UK head office. Amongst the fun-filled fundraising activities that will be taking place in the run-up to Red Nose Day are raffles for prizes including an iPad and Virgin Experience Voucher, a swear box for any blasphemous or overused phrases, lunchtime hair cutting sessions and a company quiz. On the big day itself, employees will get the chance to participate in a sponsored abseil down the office building, a charity car wash or simply just wearing something red for the occasion.
