The new Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was launched in June 2011, has been designed ona new platform to deliver premium on-road performance whilst retaining off-road performance associated with Jeep's four-wheel drive torque-on-demand off-road capability.

The UK's top three-day-event rider William Fox-Pitt has taken delivery of a new Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers 237bhp and 550Nm of torque from its 3.0 litre V6 turbo diesel engine whilst returning 34mpg on the combined cycle, allowing William to cope with country terrain and tow a large horse box or trailer.

William Fox-Pitt started eventing aged 15 as was the first British rider to become eventing's World number one, with his achievements putting him amongst the most successful British riders of all time. He has represented Great Britain consistently over the last 15 years, including the 2004 Athens Olympics, 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, USA.

"I have the British Open and the European Championships coming up, followed by events at Burghley and Blenheim, so the Jeep's four-wheel drive capability is going to be very useful," says William. "The car will also be vital in the winter, and during wet British summers!

"The large boot space is essential, and there is plenty of space in the back for my two sons. All in all it's a fantastic new car which will suit my busy lifestyle very well."

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is available from £36,795 on t he road for the 3.0 CRD V6 limited, rising to £43,995 on the road for the Overland model.
