Performance figures see the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 reach 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds on to a top speed of more than 155mph.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 - the most powerful Jeep ever produced - will make its European debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The high performance SRT8 features an all new 6.4 litre HEMI V8 engine, developing 470bhp and 630Nm of torque.

Features of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 includes advanced new active damping suspension, managed by the new Selec-Track system which optimises road handling, alongside a new system which sees the Fuel Saver Technology ensure a 13-per cent improvement in motorway fuel efficiency and a 450 mile range. The race-inspired interior is performance orientated, with new SRT-styled Nappa leather and suede seats and includes an exclusive SRT steering wheel with paddle shifts.

Torsional stiffness has been improved 146% compared to the previous model thanks to the vehicle's body structure and Jeep engineers features new SRT-tuned, active damping suspension managed by the new Jeep Selec-Track system which provides the driver with the option to choose from five dynamic modes for differing driving situations.

One specification will be available for the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 in the UK which includes: Quadra-Trac active on-demand four-wheel drive transfer system, Command-View dual-pane sunroof, Uconnect satellite navigation system, adaptive cruise control, 20-inch forged aluminium wheels, blind-spot monitoring with Rear Cross-path detection and new SRT high-performance vented Brembo brakes.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is lowered by 3cm with a more aggressive profile featuring the unique SRT DNA. Hood mounted dual black heat extractors aid engine cooling. The rear features SRT performance influences including a new liftgate spoiler, air diffuser and a dual sport exhaust system complete with 10cm exhaust tail pipes.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available in the UK from the first quarter of 2012.
