Jeep Grand Cherokee
How It Looks - Interior
Jeep have made a good job of amalgamating luxury and utilitarianism into one. Over the years the American influence has been toned down in the Grand Cherokee and now it is blended with European appeal.
In Car Entertainment and Satellite Navigation
The Grand Cherokee Limited XS is fitted with a RB3 single slot CD player and radio, featuring satellite navigation. This is backed up with six premium infinity speakers. There are audio controls on the steering wheel which allow you to interact with the CD player or radio.
We were more than happy with the sound performance of the standard system, although one draw back is that to play a CD you have to remove the navigation disc, which means that you cannot change routes easily without replacing the disc.
The navigation system comprises of a 4.9 inch colour screen which integrated into the single slot CD player. The navigation system is not based on a moving map, instead it uses a pointer and symbols to direct you, of course this is backed up with voice commands, telling you when to make turns. It worked well and we were happy to see this is standard fitment on the Limited XS and Platinum models.
