Continuing demand for the Chrysler Voyager – including the latest, top-of-the-range Limited XS version – has pushed the total number of UK sales of the car through the 30,000 mark.
Introduced into the UK in March 1997, the Chrysler Voyager has always figured as one of the top choices for customers wishing to buy a people carrier in this country. And with such a wide choice of drivetrains, body styles and engines, it’s easy to see why the car appeals to so many people.
The seven seat, long and short wheelbase Voyager comes with a choice of 2.4 litre and 3.3 V6 petrol, and 2.5 common rail diesel engines and is available in four different equipment levels – SE, LX, Limited and Limited XS.
Standard equipment on the entry-level SE includes four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, electrically operated front windows and rear quarter vents, power heated folding door mirrors, dual front airbags and side impact airbags for the front seats, CD player and dual zone air conditioning. One option on the SE version is sunscreen glass.
The LX version adds 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rack and overhead console with trip computer. Options on LX versions include leather seats, sunscreen glass and power sliding side doors.
Equipment on Limited versions includes as standard: power sliding doors and tailgate, leather seats with eight-way front seat power adjustment and driver’s seat and door mirror memory feature (except CRD), four disc in-dash CD player, traction control (automatic transmission), 10 Infinity speakers, load levelling suspension with height control, three-zone automatic temperature control with odour/particulate filter (except CRD) and sunscreen glass.
The XS version adds a removable centre console with 12-volt power outlet, Mopar DVD system with seven-inch overhead screen and GPS navigational radio over the Limited specification.
Simon Elliott, Managing Director of Chrysler and Jeep in the UK said: "Earlier this year Chrysler announced it had built the 10 millionth Voyager and that was great news. Now we in the UK are celebrating another milestone for Voyager and I’m delighted. It’s a great car and deserves that recognition in the form of these impressive sales figures."
The Chrysler Voyager range starts at £18,495 on the road for the 2.4 SE and rises to £32,000 for the Grand Voyager 3.3 Limited XS.
As with all Chrysler vehicles, Voyager comes with a full peace-of-mind warranty package which provides three years/60,000-mile cover plus seven years/unlimited mileage anti-corrosion warranty and three years roadside emergency cover.Published 4 August 2003
