Britain's number one tennis star, Tim Henman OBE is teaming up with top British car manufacturer Jaguar.

Tim will drive the line up of prestigious cars from the latest Jaguar range in a worldwide marketing agreement which will run until early 2006.

Tim, who got an early test drive in the new Jaguar XKR Convertible revealed this week at Geneva Motor Show says: "It's great to have such a wide choice of cars to suit my needs, from the outstanding performance and beauty of the Jaguar XKR to the practical and stylish Jaguar X-TYPE Estate.

"It's even better that these fantastic cars are made right here in the UK."

Between his rigorous tournament schedule this year, Tim hopes to visit two of the Jaguar manufacturing plants in Coventry and Liverpool to see at first hand the building of the latest Jaguar XKR and the new Jaguar X-TYPE Estate.

The new model - Jaguar’s first ever production estate car - continues the British marque’s expansion into important market segments where previously it has not been represented. It followed hard on the heels of the first ever Jaguar diesel-engined cars, which are now being delivered to customers.

Research has revealed that those buying an estate car today are on average significantly younger than their saloon car counterparts. They are also more likely to participate in active sports than they are to spectate. In short, they demand a car that complements their lifestyle - and the new X-TYPE Estate is just that vehicle.

Petrol and diesel engines, manual or automatic transmissions and all-wheel drive are all available within the new X-TYPE Estate range, with three specification levels and a portfolio of comfort, convenience and performance options giving customers further opportunities to personalise their car.

Mike Wright, Jaguar's managing director added: "We are delighted that Tim has selected to collaborate with Jaguar over the next two years and wish him well in his pursuit of a Grand Slam men's singles title.

"He is established as one of the great British sportsmen as well as being one of the most popular and we are looking forward to working with Tim on his aspirations for tennis in the UK, and his charity work with Kids at Heart."
