New Isuzu Pickup Does More Than Scare The Birds

Two Isuzu TF 4x4 Crew Cab Pickups have just gone into service with the Guernsey Airport Authority.

One Isuzu will take on a high-profile multi-function role at Guernsey Airport itself while the other will be operating 20 miles away at the airport on the island of Alderney.

Both Pickups will do everything from towing grip testers – which measure the coefficient of friction on the runways – to bird scaring patrol duties and airfield safety inspections.

"We bought them partly because of Isuzu’s good reputation for durability and, of course, the attractive price quoted during our competitive tender exercise," said Deputy Airport Director, Brian Falla.

Supplying dealer was Le Mont Saint Garage based in Guernsey which also represents Subaru for the Channel Islands.

Launched in May 2002, the Isuzu TF Pickup range starts at £10,795 on-the-road (excluding VAT) and boasts a 2,000 kg braked towing limit and 12,000 mile oil change intervals for its turbocharged and intercooled 2.5 litre diesel engine.
