That is the conclusion of a new report from the Consumers’ Association Which? magazine, regarded as the bible for unbiased advice on consumer purchases.
The Which? Car 2004/5 guide has rated more than 150 cars, based on their own thorough tests and feedback from owners. Feedback on 34,000 new and second hand cars was used to compile the survey.
Their findings show a mighty 87 per cent of Santa Fe owners would encourage a friend to buy one. This puts the Santa Fe in fifth position overall, and number one recommended full-size SUV.
The Hyundai Santa Fe came ahead of all cars from Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, BMW, Ford, Renault, Citroen, Peugeot and Vauxhall.
The Getz also earns praise from the Which? team, which received the second highest supermini rating. Some 82 per cent of Getz owners would recommend it to a friend.
Which? said: "Hyundai is so confident about its latest cars that it’s backing them with a five year warranty. That confidence seems well placed, not a single one or two year old Getz in our survey had broken down in the last year."
The Getz and Santa Fe, like all models in the Hyundai range, come with the company’s five year unlimited mileage warranty. Hyundai is the only company to offer such a warranty.
