Hyundai Storming Ahead As 2004 Comes To A Close
Published: 9th December 2004
Hyundai’s brilliant year continues apace. The company has exceeded the 34,000 sales mark for the first time ever, with still a month to go.
Up to the end of November, Hyundai had sold 34,508 vehicles in the UK. In November alone 2,307 Hyundais found new homes, meaning more sales for Hyundai than Seat, Skoda, Suzuki, Jaguar/Daimler, Mitsubishi and Saab.
This gave Hyundai a 1.34 per cent market share for the month, and a 1.42 per cent share for the year to date. What is more, sales are up 15 per cent year to date in a market that is virtually static.
Star performers included the Getz at 14,084 sales so far this year, the Coupe at 4,544, Santa Fe at 4,107 and Matrix at 3,752.
Hyundai’s new 4x4 Tucson SUV, meanwhile, has made remarkable progress in the three and a half months since it was introduced, selling 1,453 units. And Hyundai’s rugged Terracan has sold 1,438 examples so far this year.
Hyundai remains the only manufacturer to offer a five year, unlimited mileage, fully transferable warranty as standard.
