The £8,695 Getz CRTD GSI five-door uses Hyundai’s latest generation 1.5 litre common-rail, turbo-diesel, three-cylinder engine, as already seen in the Accent and Matrix.
The Getz CRTD GSI offers superb fuel economy; 70.6mpg on the extra urban run, 44.8mpg urban and 58.9mpg combined and has a top speed of 106mph. It does the 0-62mph dash in 16.5 seconds and comes with a very low CO2 emissions figure of 127g/km.
Additionally, the diesel version is being launched with three years free servicing (as with all Getz) until the end of March 2004.
The Getz CRTD GSI shares all the standard equipment features of the petrol Getz GSI. Features include: driver and passenger airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution, power steering, electric front windows, split/folding rear seats, ISOFIX seat anchorage, stereo/radio RDS CD player and rear spoiler.
The Getz range has proved a real star in Hyundai’s range, with more than 12,000 sold in the UK in 2003. It also collected two major awards in 2003: What Car? Budget Car of the Year, and Scottish Small Car of the Year.
The Getz range starts with the value-for-money £6,995 1.1 GSI three-door, rising to the 1.6 CDX five-door and 1.6 Sport at £10,145.
