Marcus, 23, who won the gruelling contest several weeks ago only has a provisional licence … so until he passes his test, girlfriend Alison Curran gets to drive the car!
To help Marcus on his way, however, Hyundai has secured free driving lessons from BSM, the UK’s largest driving school, until he takes his test. He collected his prize from his local Hyundai dealer, All Electric Garages in Kidderminster, last week.
Marcus, who is Sous Chef at Hibiscus restaurant in his home town of Ludlow, Shropshire, said: "The car’s really driving nicely, it’s brilliant! I’m amazed at how much equipment you get for an entry-level car."
Marcus beat off hundreds of young hopefuls to win the prestigious Gordon Ramsay award.
The final 10 chefs competed against each other in a grand ‘cook off’ at The Restaurant Show at Olympia, not knowing what ingredients they would be using until the morning of the contest. If that wasn’t enough, Gordon Ramsay himself was keeping all the finalists on their toes.
Multi Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay has arguably become Britain’s best known restaurateur, through Channel 4’s Kitchen Nightmares and ITV1’s Hell’s Kitchen.
The Getz, meanwhile is Hyundai’s best selling car, and comes with the company’s range-wide five year, unlimited mileage, fully transferable warranty.
