A Fresh Accent Takes The Stage For 2003
Published: 14th January 2003
The Accent, which is built at Hyundai’s state of the art Ulsan plant, was introduced into the UK in 1994 and is one of Hyundai’s most popular models, selling 1.6 million cars worldwide and nearly 90,000 examples in the UK.
The new Accent will come with Hyundai’s pioneering five year unlimited mileage warranty as standard. The warranty was the first for the UK in that it is fully transferable between owners, and has genuine unlimited mileage cover. The warranty is fully manufacturer-backed during the five years and also covers some perishable items. It was voted the best warranty on offer in Britain by Mike Rutherford of the Daily Mirror. If that wasn’t enough, the Accent, like all Hyundais, comes with three years RAC Assistance.
The Accent also forms the basis of Hyundai’s World Rally Championship entry. Now onto its third evolution, the Accent WRC3 has achieved some highly impressive results on the rally series in 2002 finishing the year in fourth place in the manufacturers’ series – ahead of longer established competitors Skoda and Mitsubishi. This year the Hyundai World Rally Team continues with a two car entry with the experienced pairing of Freddy Loix and Armin Schwarz.
