Hyundai Sonata Review
Established in 1967 the Hyundai Motor Company is part of one of the largest industrial groups in the world. A little known fact in the UK is that Hyundai is the 6th largest car manufacturer in the world and operates the biggest automotive plant which is located in Ulsan - Korea.
The Sonata was introduced in 1985 and the latest model went on sale in the UK on Friday 29th April 2005. The fifth generation Sonata was available at launch with a 2.4 litre petrol engine and a choice of five-speed manual or four-speed H-matic automatic transmission - a diesel model is to be introduced in 2006. Prices range from £16,495 for the 2.4 CDX five-speed manual to £17,495 for the 2.4 CDX automatic.
Hyundai's marketing philosophy is 'a car first, a badge second' we test whether the new Sonata is a credible contender within the competitive executive saloon segment which includes class leaders such as the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Honda Accord, Mazda6 & Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
