Introducing the New Hyundai i10
Published: 12th February 2008
Hyundai i10
A decade ago, a car offering air conditioning, electric windows, 14-inch wheels, six-speaker stereo and four airbags would have been seen as impressive if it cost £13,000. And now Hyundai is able to bring buyers all this in a car costing half this amount.
The new Hyundai i10 city car is priced from just £6,495 – and even the entry-level Classic has air conditioning, four airbags, front electric windows, electric power steering, central locking and a CD player with MP3 compatibility.
It’s not just the Classic entry model that offers fantastic value. The mid-range Comfort has additional features such as rear electric windows, remote control central locking and 14-inch alloy wheels.
Go for a top-of-the-range Style and the specification adds a rear spoiler, 15” alloy wheels, heated front seats and even an electric sunroof. This range-topper costs just £7,595, less than some rivals’ entry level models!
It’s not just the purchase price which makes the i10 easy on the pocket – all i10s are powered by a 1.1 litre petrol engine which is capable of averaging more than 56mpg. Classic and Comfort models produce just 119g/km of CO2 too, qualifying them for the VED band B and making the tax disc cost just £35 a year.
Even better news for drivers who live or travel into the London Congestion Charge zone, the i10 Classic and Comfort models are entitled to a 100 percent discount from 27th October 2008 following the Mayor’s announcement today (12th February 2008). This could save drivers entering the capital daily a massive £2,080 each year.
All trim levels also have Hyundai’s Five-Year unlimited mileage warranty as standard too – and that alone would cost hundreds of pounds if added to the purchase price of rivals.
The i10 will appear in Hyundai dealers from 2nd April.
