Cool styling usually comes at considerable cost but Hyundai is breaking the mould this autumn with a Special Edition of its top-selling Getz supermini that combines sharp design with an irresistible price tag. The Getz Special Edition is the perfect match for younger drivers who crave a new car, but don’t want to sacrifice their style credibility.
Priced on the road at just £6,995, the SE’s good looks start with the newly launched contemporary exterior design that has put the Getz in the supermini supermodel league. The big news, however, is inside, where the bold upholstery and trim, coordinated to match the car’s exterior colour, bring the interior to life.
Two eye catching combinations are on offer: Hip Hop Red exterior with red interior trim and an Ebony Black exterior with blue interior trim. The colour coordination takes in seat facings with a large geometric pattern and coordinated door trims, gear knob and two-tone steering wheel. A discreet SE badge on the tailgate provides the finishing touch.
The Getz Special Edition is not just about appearances, though. It comes generously equipped as standard with electric front windows, a 60:40 split folding rear seat, central locking, RDS radio and CD player, power steering, height adjustable steering column, driver and front passenger airbags with a cut-off switch for the passenger unit, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, three three-point rear seatbelts and front seatbelts with pretensioners.
Under the bonnet is Hyundai’s revised four cylinder 1.1 litre petrol engine producing 67 PS (65 bhp) for lively performance and top speed beyond 90 mph with wallet-friendly Combined Cycle fuel economy of 51.4 mpg. This improved unit now complies with the tougher Euro IV emissions standards for cleaner running.
