Ease of Use

Front legroom is fine, but headroom is restricted, especially as the 2.0 and 2.7 litre cars have an electric sunroof as standard. Personally, I would prefer the extra headroom as the car is fitted with climate control. The lack of headroom does impede all round vision and over the shoulder reversing but it isn’t too bad.

Adult rear seat passenger may find it a little snug but the seats are reasonably supportive. Tall rear passengers can find their head a little too near the rear window for comfort, please beware when closing the tailgate.

The steering wheel and the driver’s seat are adjustable for height. The seat probably could do with a bit more height range but legroom is fairly good. We would have preferred to have seen dial adjustment for recline rather than a lever as it is easier to find the optimum position. Otherwise the seats are OK and they do have lumbar support for lower back support. We found it quite difficult to find the ideal driving position and always felt that we were either too near or to far away from the clutch.

The boot is surprisingly large and is further enhanced by the 50/50 split/fold rear seats and Hyundai have thoughtfully incorporated a useful cargo net, ideal for securing your shopping on the long way home.

On a practical level the Hyundai Coupe is equipped with front cup holders, front door pockets, front armrest - with storage compartment, map reading lights, footrest, front seat back pockets, luggage compartment light, remote boot release, remote fuel filler flap release, trip computer, speedometer, rev counter, fuel level, water temperature, trip odometer and warning lights for the ABS, oil pressure, door/tailgate ajar, battery charge, full beam, low fuel, airbag, hazard, rear fog light.
