You can enjoy various exciting and fun experiences at Honda’s Twin-Ring Motegi race track - including getting hitched.
Japanese couples in search of high-octane thrills are flocking to Honda’s world famous race track …to get married. As well as a fiesta of motor sport activities, the giant race track - the Japanese equivalent of Brands Hatch and Centerparcs all rolled into one - also caters for Western-style weddings.
The bride and groom can choose to have a parade round the super speedway circuit in the official Honda S2000 pace car - with their relatives and friends following them in a yellow school bus.
Wedding cakes are shaped like a car or circuit, while some enthusiasts even display their own cars or motorcycles at the wedding reception hall. Some weddings have taken place on race day, allowing the couple to spend the afternoon autograph hunting!
Once the wedding is over, the party might continue with kart racing, the ‘stock car experience’ or perhaps a robot-guided visit to the Fan Fun Lab!
Weddings have been taking place at Twin-Ring Motegi since 1999, two years after the facility opened. About 70% of people who get wedded here are motorsports enthusiasts and 60% of people are local people from Tochigi prefecture.
It’s what might be described as a ‘crazy sensible’ wedding!
