Build Quality

Honda has paid attention to detail and the finish was up there with the best, it was just a pity that the interior lacks the appeal of its German rivals.

As we have come to expect from Honda reliability is legendary and is supported with a 3-year/90,000 mile (whichever comes first) mechanical warranty.

Value For Money

If this was a BMW or Audi, then the Honda Legend would be bordering on an expensive car. But this is a £39,000 Honda, which we doubt will have the same kind of residual or desirability of a second hand BMW or Mercedes-Benz. In saying that the Legend is well equipped and nearly everything is standard, but watch out for the 9,500 mile service intervals.

Overall Opinion

Honda have developed technically a very clever car, the problem lies in the fact that is a £39,000 Honda. On our first day we parked it next to a rather smug looking gentleman in a Mercedes Benz E-Class 350 Sport £38,000 without him realising that we were financially out trumping him, but as he went to tee off he knew that his car talked volumes but what did the Honda say about us?

Toyota knew that when they wanted to enter the fiercely competitive and let’s say status orientated executive market place that the badge snobs weren’t going to buy a car from a company associated with family hatchbacks. So they invented a new brand and entitled it Lexus. Honda has decided to be brave retaining the same dealer network that retails and services the £9k Honda Jazz as the £39,000 Legend.

We quite liked the Legend and it is worth a look if you want to be different, it does have an excellent four wheel drive system and some very clever electronic systems that will be the envy of your colleagues.
