The new Honda Legend has been given a vote of confidence from Glass’s Guide.
Official September figures value Legend at 35% after 3 years/60,000 miles - in line with Honda targets announced at launch.
“This is very encouraging,” said Shaun Wooton, Honda’s National Corporate Leasing Manager. “We knew it was always going to be tough launching into the E sector, dominated by the German premium brands. But Glass’s have proved that with the right product and realistic volume aspirations, there is plenty of room for an alternative E sector contender. A plethora of new technology on the Legend – including SH-AWD and CMBS - gives the car a point of difference and we’re confident it’s a credible alternative to the more traditional prestige brands.”
In his Editorial Report for the September book, Jason King, Forecasting Editor for Glass’s comments, “So is the Legend a true competitor to the established prestige brands? In terms of specification, build quality, handling and a first class dealer network then the Honda is far from outclassed. The brand is edging closer towards its ultimate goal, and this is another step in the right direction.”
