Honda Supports Swindon Schools Initiative

Honda Motor Europe is supporting the United Learning Trust's (ULT) proposal to establish an Academy school in Swindon. Honda will contribute towards the development of the Academy, which will only follow on approval of a feasibility study. Should the proposal go ahead, Honda will be involved in providing business support and learning opportunities for science, technology and enterprise, creating a centre of excellence, designed to provide the highest standards of education for all, in one of the most deserving areas of Swindon.
Mike Godfrey, Chief Engineer and Senior Manager at Honda’s Swindon plant and Honda’s representative for the development proposal of the Academy in Swindon said: “At Honda there is a strong belief in the importance of individual opportunity through ability and aptitude and challenging spirit. As part of Honda’s long term objective of investing in the Community in which we exist, we want to support educational opportunities for young people to achieve their dreams.
“Honda is a world leader in engineering, manufacturing and business practice so we have a lot to contribute to students interested in a career in those areas. Through investing in the development of education for the future adults of the Community we hope to go some way in achieving this objective.”
