Ford EcoSport (2013)

Ford today has shown off their European version of the compact EcoSport SUV which should hit the UK toward the end of 2013.

The EcoSport is built on Ford’s B-segment platform, and promises the agility and fuel efficiency of a small family car with the flexibility, spaciousness, high driving position, and go anywhere appeal of an SUV. It was developed in South America where it is already on sale but this is the European edition and is the second SUV from Ford this year, with the introduction of the new Kuga.

The Ford EcoSport will be available with a number of engines which include the 125PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, a 110PS 1.5-litre petrol engine, and a 90PS 1.5-litre diesel engine.

The Ford EcoSport will be offered with a comprehensive package of driver assistance technologies including Electronic Stability Program and Hill Launch Assist. And will feature Ford’s SYNC voice-activated in-car connectivity system. The Ford SYNC AppLink system offers drivers voice control of mobile apps on the move, including music streaming services such as Spotify. Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance will directly connect the vehicle occupants to local emergency services operators after an accident.

Currently we do not have a firm launch dates, specifications or UK prices for the Ford EcoSport, which we hope to, have shortly.
