The new Fiat Doblo’s key strong points are versatility and accessibility. Within its compact dimensions (4.16 m long, 1.71 m wide and 1.80 m high) it can seat five people in comfort – two large, sliding side doors allied to raised seating positions making it particularly easy for passengers to climb in and out – while also offering plenty of luggage space; a class-leading 750 litres to parcel shelf level. The back seat may also be folded down to create a massive 3000 litres of load space, which means that the vehicle can carry bulky sports or leisure equipment when used for recreation, or large quantities of merchandise when used on business.
The arrival of the new, 7-seat Family version further reinforces the versatility of the 2004 Fiat Doblo range, with the addition of a third row of passenger accommodation in the form of a movable and foldable bench seat. Offered with Fiat Auto’s ground breaking 1.3 16-valve 70 bhp MultiJet turbodiesel powerplant, the new Doblò Family version is set to become the least expensive 7-seater MPV in the UK market today.
Already acclaimed for its spacious interior, comfortable seats, first class driving ergonomics and exceptional all-round visibility, the 2004 Doblo now features a two-tone, black over light blue dashboard, a choice of four new cloth trims, and four new exterior colours – Sky Blue, Astro Blue, Opal Green and New Black – plus a full-height tailgate fitted as standard across the range.
The Fiat Doblo’s comprehensive levels of standard equipment have been upgraded for 2004. In addition to an existing specification which includes electric front windows, remote central locking, driver and passenger airbags, a height adjustable driver’s seat and armrest, and a stereo radio/cassette, Active versions now benefit from a 60:40 split/folding rear seat, a third rear seatbelt and three rear head restraints.
