Multipla Is MPV Mastermind 2004

This is the first time a magazine has graded MPVs on their ‘intelligence’, and the title MPV Mastermind 2004 is unique to What MPV and 4x4? The magazine assessed 15 of the newest models and biggest sellers, ranking them in order from dunce to genius.
Each vehicle was assessed on a range of features and practical considerations that the magazine considered essential for an MPV. A transparent and rigidly applied scoring system was used that took into account not just the number of seats, storage areas and cupholders, but also the minimum and maximum size of the boot.
The top scoring Fiat Multipla was judged to have an IQ of 165 and declared the champion, beating off strong competition from the Renault Grand Scenic, VW Touran, Mitsubishi Grandis and Toyota Corolla Verso.
Commenting on the award, What MPV and 4x4? editor, Bob Murray says: "The Multipla was a brilliant MPV when it first came out and it’s still a genius when it comes to providing space, seats, versatility and features that today’s families demand."
Since its introduction here four years ago, Fiat Auto’s remarkable Multipla has received accolades from all quarters of the UK motor industry media. The continually lengthening list of its awards is currently as follows:
