The Dodge GTS

Published: 16th January 2005

The exterior design of the all-new 2006 Dodge SRT10 Coupe sets it apart from its convertible sibling, with its "double-bubble" roof and dramatic, unique rear styling with wrap-around tail lights that are reminiscent of the original 1996 GTS Coupe. The only bodywork that the Dodge SRT10 Coupe shares with the Convertible is the front fascia and wings, bonnet and doors. In addition to the new canopy and decklid, the 2006 Dodge SRT10 Coupe has a special windshield surround, door side glass, rear fascia, quarter panels and tail lights.

The Coupe will weigh approximately the same as the convertible although torsional rigidity is approximately 30 percent greater in the 2006 Dodge SRT10 Coupe, compared with the convertible, which is already available in the UK.

The SRT10 Coupe is outrageous yet refined, delivering world-class performance: 0-60 mph in less than four seconds, 60-0 mph braking in less than 100 feet, and 0-100-0 mph in the low 12-second range. The Dodge SRT10 Coupe generates 500 horsepower (372 kW) and 525 lb.-ft. (712 N.m) of torque from its 505-cubic-inch V-10 engine, and continues the tradition of delivering enthusiasts yet another must-have supercar.

From an aerodynamic standpoint, the all-new 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe is designed for increased downforce and high-speed stability, with a sloping roofline and decklid spoiler. The canopy and rear spoiler of the SRT10 Coupe contributes to more downforce at the rear. It is estimated that the coefficient of drag for the 2006 Dodge SRT10 Coupe will be improved (estimated for Coupe at .39 - the convertible’s coefficient of drag is 0.4).

US pricing for the 2006 Dodge SRT10 Coupe has not yet been announced and it has not been confirmed for the UK market.
