Free Leather Trim For First Copen Customers

Published: 4th June 2003
Copen

Daihatsu’s cute new Copen sportscar will cost £12,995 on-the-road when it enters dealer showrooms in one single high-spec form this November.

And anyone agreeing to take delivery this year will receive free heated leather seats, leather door trim and a leather Momo steering wheel – worth £500.

Around 2,000 eager potential buyers on Daihatsu’s database are now being contacted with the offer which only requires a £250 deposit to qualify. These enthusiasts were instrumental in persuading Daihatsu in Japan to obtain European Whole Vehicle Type Approval, turning the home-market Copen into an exportable icon.

The 660 cc turbocharged Copen has disarming looks with a rounded teardrop design, oval front and rear lamps and minimal overhangs. Its ‘party-piece’ is an electrically-operated folding hard-top – very similar to that on a Mercedes SLK – offering excellent security and weather protection.

Standard equipment will include power steering, twin airbags, anti-lock brakes, alloy wheels, electric windows and door mirrors, central-locking, radio/CD player and air-conditioning. Colour choice will be Black, Yellow or Silver
