Promotion Brings Citroen Xsara Picassos For Reading Rugby Football Club

This is the fourth time that Reading Rugby Football Club has chosen Citroen cars to replace its entire fleet – and the third time that it has opted for Xsara Picasso compact MPVs. The current order has been supplied by Citroen Retail World, Birmingham. The new Xsara Picassos are being operated on 24 month, 28,000 mile, with maintenance contract hire agreements placed with two companies, Abridge Leasing Ltd and Custom Fleet Ltd.
To reflect its long-standing relationship with Citroen Reading RFC has just launched a new Affinity programme which allows Club members to purchase Citroen vehicles at attractive rates. The first customer to buy a new Citroen through the new Reading RFC Affinity scheme is Danny Barrett, one of Club’s players, who is due to retire from playing at the end of the season. The Xsara Picasso so impressed him as his team car that he has now bought his own.
Dee Edwards, Reading Rugby Football Club’s commercial manager, explains, "Citroen Xsara Picasso compact MPVs are part of a quality package we need in order that we can attract and keep the calibre of players necessary to sustain our promotion to the National Rugby League. The players are all very pleased with the Xsara Picasso and we have found these vehicles to be very economical to operate, hence we were happy to specify Citroen for a fourth time."
