Fast-growing Acorn Recruitment is now replacing virtually its entire 200 strong car fleet with Citroens. The Newport, Gwent headquartered company has already taken over Citroen 160 cars this year - the majority of these being C3s and Xsara Picassos. The new Citroens are based at Acorn’s centres throughout the UK and provide its essential user staff with cost effective and reliable transport, whatever the job.

Acorn, which for three years running has been recognised as one of the top 50 fastest growing businesses in Wales, moved to Citroen following the company’s decision to out source its vehicle acquisition and management to Newport-based Axis Vehicle Solutions. Axis negotiates the purchase of the cars, which are supplied through Citroen City, London, on Acorn’s behalf and arranges finance.

Jeff Howells, Axis managing director, explains, "Acorn is a dynamic and fast growing company which provides permanent, contract and temporary staff for many blue chip companies around the UK. With new customers being added to its portfolio every day, its vehicle requirements are constantly changing. The comprehensive Citroen car range means we can select the right vehicle for each new application - and the back up support we get from the manufacturer is superb. Citroen wins hands down on whole life costs too, which is most advantageous for Acorn".

Matt Southall, Acorn managing director agrees, "We know that choosing the right staff can make all the difference to the success of any business. By the same token the right choice of vehicle can make all the difference to the level of service we give our customers. Citroens have proved to be very reliable and versatile, particularly the Xsara Picasso. With Axis looking after the fleet we can concentrate on our core business which is providing companies with top quality staff".
