VAT's The Way To Do It!
Published: 3rd November 2002
Spearheaded by a 50% rise in sales to private buyers, this growth has encouraged Citroen to continue to pay its customers’ VAT both on new cars registered during November as well as all factory fit options, representing possible savings of up to £3,600.
Further reinforcing Citroen’s position as the value champions in the UK car market, the ever successful Saxo supermini continues to be available with free insurance, not only on the sporty VTS/VTR/Furio trio (21-80 years), but also on Forte (20-80 years) and Desire (21-80 years) models bought via the company’s personal contract scheme.*
Citroen’s star of the month was the funky new C3 with some 3,000 sales. As well as making it Citroen’s most popular model in October, this also ensured that the C3 has sold even more in its first six months than did the Company’s other recent soaraway success, the class-leading Xsara Picasso.
The ‘VAT Free’ offer means that the C3 supermini is available from just £7,326, while the Xsara Picasso compact MPV and technologically advanced C5 are available from under £11,000 and a little over £12,500 respectively.
* Free insurance is only available in Northern Ireland on
Saxo Desire models.
