Citroen C3 Pluriel

Body Styles And Versatility

There really is no other vehicle quite like the multi-talented C3 Pluriel which, unlike some rivals, has genuine room for four passengers as well as a generous sized boot. And, unlike its rivals, it can morph into five different configurations including a cabriolet and pick-up, yet still boast a supermini price tag.

First and foremost, the C3 Pluriel can be used as a true supermini 365 days a year, without even opening the roof, thanks to the availability of four proper seats and a boot that is larger than those of most of its supermini rivals. The advanced multi-layered roof ensures that occupants can travel in peace and quiet, closeted from the outside world, yet the pillarless design makes the inside light and airy, even with the windows up.

At the touch of a button, and even on the move, the supermini can be transformed into the first of four additional configurations. Simply rotating the roof-mounted control allows the full-length, electrically operated fabric roof to be retracted to one of eight different preset positions, flooding the cabin with daylight. In addition, the four electric windows can be lowered individually to give the occupants an open air feel with the minimum of fuss.

Then by pressing the control, the folded roof moves one stage further to cover the rear screen. Combined, the folded roof and rear screen can both then be easily pivoted and stowed in the recessed boot area to create the next body style. The removable boot floor is then replaced to protect the roof/screen cassette, and to ensure that there is still plenty of usable boot space, while the reinforced roof arches can be left in place for additional peace of mind. And to ensure that the boot’s contents remain safe even when the roof and rear screen are down, a boot security cover comes as standard.

When the sky is blue and the sun is shining, the roof arches can easily be removed so that drivers can experience the ultimate in wind-in-the-hair motoring. Weighing under 12 kg and made of light yet highly resistant aluminium alloy, these reinforced arches can be tidily stored away using the accessory stand and storage covers.

Finally the C3 Pluriel can become a hugely practical load-lugger as the two rear seats are tipped forward, individually or together, to create a large flat loading area 135 cm long. Loading the boot couldn’t be easier, thanks to its wide rear aperture, while the strong tailgate, which can support weights of up to 100kg, can be used when folded down to help load the boot or as a surface for other uses.

In addition to its stylish interior and exterior it is here, in terms of versatility and practicality, where the Citroen C3 Pluriel truly remains unchallenged. More than just a supermini, the Citroen C3 Pluriel can adapt, alter, transform and modify its look to suit the mood of the driver or a change in the weather thanks to its unique roof system.

And not only is the specially designed fabric roof tough and secure enough to withstand an automatic car wash, but its four layers provide it with exceptional comfort, acoustic and thermal insulation qualities. In addition the roof design also uses metal cross members within the multi-layered skin to form a hardy defence against break-ins.
