Citroen's Superminis Power Ahead

Already the fourth best selling five-door supermini in the UK, the bubbly C3 is set to bubble even more with the arrival of the new petrol unit, which is allied to Citroen’s SensoDrive gearbox. This new model, available in SX trim, slots in between the 75hp 1.4i and 110hp 1.6i 16V models to complete the C3 petrol line-up.
The new powerplant rewards drivers with over 47mpg on the combined cycle and a top speed of 112mph, while variable valve timing gives it plenty of mid range torque, with 90% of the maximum 98lb.ft available at 1,800rpm. ABS with EBD and EBA, four airbags and automatic air conditioning are all standard within the £9,542 price tag that includes the current ‘VAT Back’ offer, valid until the end of March.
For the first time, the impressive C3 1.4HDi 70hp Euro 4 common rail unit now gets SensoDrive transmission, which offers the convenience of a clutch-less gearchange, using paddles behind the steering wheel or a centrally mounted gearlever, as well as an automatic mode. This new SX model combines excellent pulling power with 64mpg economy and is available for just £10,220, including cashback.
The C2 range is also expanding with the arrival of the new 1.4HDi Furio SensoDrive. With a RRP of £10,195, which currently includes one year’s free insurance (ages 21-80, UK mainland only), this diesel model is Euro 4 compliant and comes with ABS as standard. It complements the C2 1.4i Furio petrol version, which is now available with either a manual or SensoDrive gearbox at prices that start at under £9,000.
