Citroen C2 Launch Prices And Offers

Published: 31st August 2003
The New Citroen C2

Even before its official UK launch on 19 September, Citroen has revealed prices for its wicked-looking three-door supermini, the dynamic C2. Eye-opening launch offers, including free insurance on sporty models, will make the exciting newcomer available from under £7,000, further reinforcing Citroen’s title as value champion of the UK car market.

Over and above its street cool looks and great prices, the C2 has also achieved the very best, Group 1, insurance rating for all 1.1i models as well as, with almost 70mpg possible in everyday driving for the 1.4HDi, the best economy of any mainstream car.

Prices start at £6,995 for the 1.1i L, including a £500 cashback launch offer, which also applies to the 1.4HDi L, and rise to £10,995 for the 1.6i 16V 110bhp VTR. Both the 1.4 Furio and 1.6i 16V VTR are offered with free insurance (except in N.Ireland), whilst the remaining models come with a £300 cashback offer.

Emphasising Citroen’s value for money, the C2 range is actually cheaper than the equivalent Saxo models were at their launch some seven years ago, despite packing in a lot more equipment, with all models featuring four airbags, variable assisted power steering, remote locking and a trip computer.

The C2 boasts innovative practical features like individually sliding and folding rear seats and a split tailgate and it is also available with climate control, automatic headlamps and wipers, cruise control, heated leather seats, six airbags, ABS and ESP. The 1.6i 16V VTR and 1.4i models are fitted with Citroen’s rally-style SensoDrive gearbox.
