Citroen Recall 3,600 C3 Models

Published: 22nd January 2003
Citroen UK is to recall 3,600 C3 cars, fitted with ABS, delivered between 15th September 2002 and 15th January 2003.

There have been a small number of cases of water ingress into the ABS Control Unit; this can cause the warning light to illuminate on the dashboard. Although normal braking will continue to operate 100% effectively, the ABS will not function under these conditions.

In very exceptional circumstances, this water can damage the Electronic Control Unit, causing a short circuit that could ultimately lead to the risk of a fire under the bonnet.

Owners will be asked to take their cars to their local Citroen dealer where the vehicle will be checked free of charge and modified if necessary. In the meantime, Citroen UK has set up a special information line on 01753 843498 to answer any customer enquiries.
