npower's Big Citroen Saxo Deal!
Published: 25th May 2003
Saxo Desire models are powered by 60hp, 1.1i petrol engines, with CO2 emissions levels in the lowest band and a low 4E insurance group rating. This Saxo model also has a high level of standard specification, including remote central locking, power steering, glass slide/tilt sunshine roof, front fog lights, electric front windows and a stereo radio/CD player.
npower’s 175 Saxos, which replace a predominantly Fiesta based fleet, are being operated on three year contract hire agreements with Lex Transfleet. The cars will each cover up to 15,000 miles per annum providing transport for staff reading the meters of npower’s domestic and commercial customers.
Lex Transfleet is also providing npower with a fleet management service for its Saxos. This comprehensive service is a continuation of that previously provided to npower. As such Lex Transfleet will be providing maintenance, accident management and other fleet-related services.
Phil Clark, Lex Transfleet’s contract manager, comments,
"Citroen Saxo Desires were chosen for this contract
on a basis of low whole life costs and excellent levels of standard
equipment, which includes remote central locking. Meter readers
are locking and unlocking their cars dozens of times a day, so this
feature provides a useful security and time saving benefit."
