New Look Berlingo - Engineered For Efficiency | Part Two

New Look Berlingo – Greater Comfort And Convenience

Internally the New Look Berlingo benefits from a brand new dashboard. This has been designed to make information more accessible to the driver, thanks to clearer instrumentation and a new switch gear/control layout, which now includes new steering column mounted radio/cassette control systems.

The new dashboard, which incorporates six air vents (four adjustable, two fixed), provides a greater number of storage areas and also has a central information binnacle containing radio, clock and other information. The central binnacle extends downwards to form a central console between the seats with a 12 volt power socket and further storage with drinks holders.

Significantly, the New Look Berlingo, which already boasted bench-mark standards of equipment, including height adjustable steering column, driver’s air bag and high quality stereo radio/cassette, now benefits from a further major equipment upgrade. Variable power assisted steering, with a new steering wheel, is now standard on all New Look Berlingo models – as is a full-width, over-screen storage compartment.

In addition all New Look Berlingos (except the 600D X) gain remote control central locking, electric front windows, heated mirrors and an electrically adjustable passenger door mirror. The range of functions covered by the advanced Multiplex wiring system has been increased to include radio volume indexed to vehicle speed, front wipers indexed to vehicle speed, gradual, timed, dimming of internal lights and automatic door locking at speeds of more than 6mph (not 600D X). The New Look Berlingo also has an oil level indicator and a service indicator.

New Look Berlingo – More Choice

The New Look Berlingo range offers operators the widest choice of body configurations and load access door options in its class. Also the New Look Berlingo includes an unmatched range of power choices including:-

  • 71hp, naturally aspirated diesel
  • 90hp, 2.0HDi common rail turbo diesel
  • 75hp, 1.4i petrol engine
  • 75hp, 1.4i Dual Fuel (liquefied petroleum gas (lpg) and petrol)
  • 28kW electric power

The New Look Berlingo is available in a wider range of body configurations than its competitors. With the availability of side hinged rear doors, side hinged rear doors and rear ladder flap, tailgate (with heated rear window and wash/wipe) and the option of a single near-side sliding door or near-side and off-side sliding doors, the New Look Berlingo van offers the choice of no less than nine different load access configurations.

In addition to the 600 and 800 kg vans, which can carry a full size pallet (1000 x1200mm) or two smaller metric pallets, there is also the unique platform cab model. The New Look Berlingo platform cab is suitable for a variety of specialist bodywork including mobile catering vehicles, small motor caravans and temperature controlled bodywork.
