Citroen's New C3 XTR
Published: 25th March 2004
In addition to the panoramic electric sunroof and Moduboard, the C3 XTR comes with a whole host of equipment as standard, such as variable power steering, electric door mirrors, CD player, guide-me-home headlamps, electric front windows and a trip computer. Safety and security features include ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA), four airbags, remote control central locking with deadlocks and automatic door and boot locking on the move.
The C3 XTR is powered by a choice of two punchy, economical powerplants. The new, spirited 90hp 1.4i 16V petrol engine is allied to the Company’s innovative SensoDrive gearbox – a clutchless manual with paddleshift gearchange – and can hit a top speed of 112mph, yet still returns a convincing 47mpg on the combined cycle. Alternatively the torquey 92hp 1.4HDi 16V diesel can power to 62mph in 11.7 seconds, while providing 147 Ib.ft of low down torque and returning an impressive 66mpg on the combined cycle.
Completing this great value package, all models come with a three year / 60,000 miles warranty, with insurance ratings and service intervals respectively fixed at 4 and 20,000 miles for the petrol version and 5 and 12,500 miles for the diesel model.
