Leading registered social landlord, Home Group Ltd, has just signed a further three-year solus vehicle supply agreement with Citroen. Prior to making its car and commercial vehicle supply decision, Home Group carried out a major comparative exercise involving five vehicle manufacturers, where Citroen came out on top, thanks to its comprehensive vehicle range and established reputation for reliable, low cost of operation.

Over the next three years, as the Newcastle-upon-Tyne headquartered company expands, it is expected that the Home Group fleet will increase from its current level of 270 vehicles to around 300 vehicles. In the period covered by the new solus arrangement, Home Group expects to take over 150 Citroen New Look Relay, Dispatch and Berlingo vans. In addition, the company will also acquire over 120 Citroen cars, including Saxo, C3, Xsara, Xsara Picasso and C5 models.

Home Group’s Citroen vans are used by its maintenance division, which is involved in the upkeep of the company’s 40,000+ homes throughout the UK. Both the cars and the vans, which are being supplied by Springfield Citroen, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, are being operated on three year, with maintenance, Citroen Contract Motoring contract hire agreements.

Martyn Burn, Home Group’s assistant director of corporate services, explains, "Citroen was able to offer us the best value package on the full range of cars and commercial vehicles we needed. Our maintenance department is very pleased with Citroen vans and our company car drivers like the Citroen car range."
