Citroen Desire - An Emotion In Motion

There are now even more reasons to fall in love with Citroen’s Xsara Picasso, Xsara or C3, with the launch this February of a range of special edition Desire models. Arriving just in time for Valentine’s day, and designed to reinforce Citroen’s reputation for offering exceptional value for money, the new models will seduce buyers with their attractive styling, excellent equipment levels and, in the C3’s case, free insurance.

The Xsara Picasso Desire comes fitted with Citroen’s fuel-efficient 2.0HDi 90hp direct injection diesel engine or the peppy 1.6i petrol unit. Based on the LX version, the new model’s stylish exterior includes body coloured bumpers, side rubbing strips, door mirrors and door handles, as well as fog lamps and aluminium effect door sill finishers.

On the inside, the Desire adds air conditioning to the equipment list, while the modern feel is enhanced by the use of carbon fibre effect trim, special blue upholstery, a leather steering wheel, as well as a chrome effect gear knob and air vent toggles. Yet despite all these extra features, the special edition costs just £600 more than the LX.

The Xsara Desire offers added style both inside and out. Featuring metallic paint as standard, the new model also benefits from a special dashboard trim and classy upholstery, complemented by matching seat belts and a leather steering wheel. Available with either the spirited 1.6i 16V petrol or highly acclaimed 2.0 HDi 110hp diesel unit, these style touches give Xsara added desire-ability in hatchback and load-lugging estate forms, both of which come with a special £1,100 cashback.

For the funky C3, the special edition Desire is available with either the ultra-economical 70hp 1.4 HDi common rail diesel or 75hp 1.4i petrol engine. On top of the equipment offered by the LX, the C3 Desire adds a CD Player and air conditioning, helping one of the coolest superminis get even cooler, while buyers aged between 21 and 80 will even receive one year’s free insurance*.
