As well as displaying its sporting and family cars, French manufacturer Citroen unveiled its new five-strong range of commercial vehicles at the British International Motor Show in Birmingham.
Making its UK debut at the Show, the New Look Berlingo, which goes on sale in November, introduces power steering as standard on all Berlingos and offers the widest range of power options and load door choice in the high-cube van sector.
Citroen's commercial vehicles operations manager Brian Roskell said: “The New Look Berlingo is the latest phase of Citroen's product improvement programme, which has allowed us to offer customers state-of-the-art vehicles. It adds significant comfort and convenience features to its existing 'class-leading' facets.”
Brand new to the commercial vehicle range is the Xsara Enterprise, which Citroen describes as 'a new class of business transport'.
Mr Roskell said of the new vehicle: “Our research shows that UK business customers are increasingly looking for a combination of car-like appearance, performance and equipment and load-carrying practicality.” The Xsara Enterprise boasts standard ABS, four air bags, central locking and electric windows along with all-round load access and a 530kg payload.
Phil Reed, Citroen's light commercial vehicle publicity consultant, said: “Yet again we've had another fantastic year at the Show in Birmingham.“Both the New Look Berlingo and the Xsara Enterprise have attracted enormous interest from company directors, purchasers and even the drivers themselves, who come to the Show on their own initiative so they can check out what's on offer and advise their bosses on what they'd like to be driving. “I'd say this year has been one of the best in terms of registered interest in both cars and commercial vehicles - it's usually good but this year has been incredible.” Published 6 November 2002
