Safe and sure-footed, the New Look C5 is one of the only cars in the class to come complete with seven airbags and ESP with traction control as standard. A new steering column airbag protects the driver’s knees and shins in the event of an impact, whilst the new generation ESP system works jointly with the ABS, EBD and EBA.
Half of the six petrol and diesel engines are new to the C5 range: two latest generation common rail diesel units – the 110hp 1.6HDi and 138hp 2.0HDi - that offer around 50mpg fuel economy and low CO2 emissions, as well as a 143hp 2.0i 16V petrol powerplant. In addition, a new six-speed automatic gearbox makes its first appearance, mated to the 3.0i V6 petrol unit, while a six-speed manual is fitted to the new 2.0HDi.
Available in a choice of exceptionally well-specified LX, VTR and Exclusive trims, recommended retail prices for the New Look C5 range start from £14,795 for the 1.8i 16V LX hatchback. And among the comprehensive list of options, buyers are able to select heated, leather seats, a colour satellite navigation system and electric sunroof.
